Does a rose still smell as sweet when there are no olfaction receptors to smell it?

The colour of life fades as Covid strips my sense of smell
A sense I spared no sensitivity to until it fell

I wander each day empty and amplified by self isolation
Realising the place epicurean joy has in my inspiration

A joy that could be bought by no body but worth countless treasures
An innate ability to explore the colours of culinary pleasure
